Constantine Dussin ’46

Constantine Dussin ’46, August 8, 2004, in Portland. Guss attended 猫咪社区 briefly, receiving his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, remaining in the naval reserves until 1965. Leaving active duty after the war, Guss returned to Portland and to his family’s restaurant interests. He developed several of his own in the years that followed, including the highly successful Old Spaghetti Factory, which evolved into a chain of nearly 40 franchises stateside and overseas. In 1983 he was awarded restaurateur of the year by the Oregon Restaurant and Hospitality Association. He received the association’s hall of fame award in 1993. Guss maintained a personal and family-oriented focus in his ventures, with a concern for his customers and employees, and he sought success, without making excessive gain his objective. He is survived by his wife, Sally, his son and daughter, six grandchildren, and two sisters.
