In the bio department I'm a tutor and work in the Applewhite lab so feel free to reach out if you want to get involved/have questions! I'm very passionate about food and cooking, and I'm a proud plant mom (11 of them!)

Hi! My name is Omar, a Math major  from Cairo, Egypt. I’m involved with the international community at èßäÉçÇø and run the Southwest Asia & North Africa student union on campus. I find Portland a perfect city to be in college, and I love exploring it, biking, and walking around. I enjoy spending time with friends, listening to music, and playing squash, soccer, and volleyball during my free time. I'm excited to support the Peer Mentor Program and help students have a great èßäÉçÇø experience.

Some of my on-campus involvements outside of PMP include being a DJ for èßäÉçÇø's radio station (KRRC) and attending Latinx Student Union (LSU) meetings/events. Some of my hobbies include photography, playing piano, watching movies, making Spotify playlists, and surfing Pinterest! On campus, I am a co-signator of the HotPot+ club, along with the involvement in many other clubs, and I also work in the library(come visit us!!). My interests include reading, baking, exploring Portland with my friends, and watching Formula 1. I am an avid lover of the NYT Crossword and am capable of giving a two hour presentation about the Pixar 'Cars' franchise. I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Other than being a student, I'm an event coordinator and signator for the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) here at èßäÉçÇø and I'm also a volunteer at OHSU. In my free time, I watch any movie or show I find interesting. I also love to play video games and listen to music. I'm generally just a big nerd. :)
